Brazilian police say they have arrested a man suspected in the shooting deaths of eight men over the past two months.
Police inspector Eduardo Queiroz tells the Globo TV network that 22-year-old Ronis de Oliveira Bastos used his blue bicycle in at least half of the killings. He says Bastos was arrested Monday on the outskirts of Sao Paulo while riding the bicycle and armed with a .38 caliber revolver.
He says the victims were men between the ages of 20 and 50.
Queiroz said Wednesday that Bastos claimed he used the gun for self-defense because he had received death threats.
