Police say kidnappers in the restive southern Philippines have freed one of three South Korean businessmen held for ransom.
Police spokesman Agrimero Cruz says troops found Choi Inn-so abandoned by his captors late Thursday in Lanao del Sur province. He was brought to a hospital for examination.
South Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted a Foreign Ministry official in Seoul as saying that Choi told Philippine police that the other two businessmen also were released.
Regional police chief Jufel Adriatico, however, says officers are still looking for the other two men.
They were checking on a mining investment project and on Oct. 21 failed to return to a hotel with their Filipino guide.
