Argentine police say they have detained a U.S. citizen found with a gun, ammunition and pepper spray while trying to board a plane at the capital's main airport.
An official says the man was trying to board a flight for Houston. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment on the case.
The official says police found the weapons in the man's hand luggage but gave no other details. The man's name was not released, but he is being investigated by a federal judge.
U.S. Embassy spokeswoman Shannon Farrell said the Embassy is aware of the incident but cannot release information due to privacy laws.
