Malaysian police say they have arrested 11 members of an international drug network and seized chemicals to produce 20 million ringgit ($6.4 million) worth of Ecstasy.
Police said Monday they are holding a Dutch citizen believed to be the leader of the group. They said the other suspects are five Malaysians, two Singaporeans, two Britons and a French man.
A police statement said authorities made the arrests Friday while raiding a factory in northern Kedah state.
Drug trafficking carries a mandatory penalty of execution by hanging in Malaysia.
