Officials have released the names of the three Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan by a member of the Afghan national army.
Australian Defense Minister Stephen Smith on Monday identified the soldiers as Capt. Bryce Duffy, Cpl. Ashley Birt and Lance Cpl. Luke Gavin.
The three were killed along with an Afghan interpreter on Saturday when an Afghan national army soldier opened fire during a parade at a base in southern Kandahar province. Seven other Australian soldiers were wounded.
Australian soldiers fatally shot the gunman. Smith said the gunman's motive was still not known.
Australia has 1,550 troops in Afghanistan. Saturday's attacks brought Australia's death toll from the conflict to 32.
