It was a baaaad day for the Swiss People's Party when someone got their goat.
Now Switzerland's biggest party is celebrating the return of their mascot, a goat named Zottel, and his sidekick Mimu.
The nationalist SVP says the two animals were found safe, but shaved and painted black, near Zurich on Tuesday.
A group calling itself "Antifascist Action" claimed responsibility for Saturday's kid-napping.
A posting on the left-wing website indymedia.ch said the stunt was aimed at the SVP's anti-immigrant policies that have in the past used posters of black sheep being kicked off the Swiss flag.
Party spokeswoman Silvia Baer said Wednesday that the mascot's return was a good omen ahead of general elections Sunday in which the SVP is aiming to get 30 percent of the vote.
