Mexico City's chief prosecutor says robbery was the motive in the killings of two female journalists whose bound, naked bodies were found in a park on Sept. 1
Prosecutor Miguel Mancera says the two men detained in the case will be placed under house arrest while prosecutors gather more evidence to charge them in the deaths of Marcela Yarce and Rocio Gonzalez.
The fingerprints of one of them were found inside the vehicle of one of the journalists.
Mancera said late Monday the men stole one million pesos ($71,800) in cash the two women had offered to change to dollars.
Yarce founded a political magazine but was no longer reporting and Gonzalez was a freelance journalist and owned a money-exchange business.
