Protesters tell Brazil Congress to stop corruption

Protesters are demanding that Brazil's legislators sweep out corruption. They're making that point by planting 594 brooms in front of Congress.

The brooms are green and yellow, the colors of Brazil's flag, and there is one for each representative. They were planted in front of Congress Tuesday night so the 513 members of the House and the 81 senators could see them Wednesday morning.

The protest was organized by the groups March Against Corruption and Rio for Peace, which have organized similar protests recently.

Tens of thousands have taken part in anti-corruption marches in the last month. Four ministers have fallen since January after being implicated in corruption.
