Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip will visit Australia in October.
Buckingham Palace said Friday the royal couple will fly to Canberra on Oct. 19 and travel to Perth for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting. The three-day gathering of world leaders of nations linked to Britain's former empire is held every two years.
Britain's 85-year-old queen and her 90-year-old husband will also visit Brisbane and Melbourne and leave Australia on Oct. 29.
This will be the queen's 16th visit to Australia. She last visited the country in 2006.
