State television and radio say that Guinea-Bissau's president has returned home after being hospitalized in neighboring Senegal.
President Malam Bacai Sanha was taken to a hospital in Dakar, Senegal's capital, nearly three weeks ago.
The government said he was receiving a medical checkup. But his unexpected departure heightened speculation about his health. Sanha is a diabetic, and has frequently been hospitalized since his election two years ago.
Last week, the prime minister said Sanha had been released from the hospital.
State TV and radio said the president returned to Guinea-Bissau on Sunday. No other details were given.
Since taking office in 2009, Sanha has been hospitalized in Paris, as well as in Dakar.
