Bolivia's defense minister says searchers have found the wreckage of a small plane that disappeared in the country's Amazon region and all nine people aboard are dead.
The Aerocon Fairchild SA227-DC went missing Tuesday evening on approach to Trinidad, the provincial capital of Beni. It had originated in the city of Santa Cruz in eastern Bolivia. Two Colombians and seven Bolivians were aboard.
Defense Minister Cecilia Chacon says rescuers found the plane's wreckage Thursday about 12 miles (20 kilometers) northeast of Trinidad and there are no survivors.
Chacon said earlier that a helicopter crew had seen the plane "completely destroyed" in a difficult-to-reach jungle region.
