A tractor trailer loaded with cement crashed into a day-care center in northern Mexico on Tuesday, killing three small girls and three adults.
Nuevo Leon state officials said the truck might have had a brake failure before it crashed into the small building, which was made of mud bricks and is run by a social service agency of the Mexican government.
The girls were aged 2, 4 and 6, State Civil Defense Director Jorge Camacho Rincon said. The adults included a man whose car was hit by the truck near the building and two inside.
Rincon said a girl about 18 months old was being treated at a hospital along with the truck driver, who was from the eastern state of Veracruz.
The accident happened in the remote town of Arramberi and helicopters were used to evacuate the injured.
