OSLO (Reuters) - Seven people have been killed and two are seriously injured after a blast rocked the center of Oslo, Norwegian police said on Friday.

"Seven people have died and two are seriously injured," Sveinung Sponheim, acting chief of police for Oslo, told a news conference.

Separately, a Reuters correspondent saw soldiers taking positions around central Oslo. When asked whether they were from the Norwegian army, they confirmed that they were.
