Data on black boxes of Brazilian airliner analyzed

Brazil's Air Force says it has begun analyzing data in the two black boxes of the regional airliner that crashed in the city of Recife, killing all 16 people on board.

The Air Force says in a statement that the flight recorders were recovered shortly after the twin-turboprop aircraft belonging to Noar Airlines crashed in an empty field and burst into flames on Wednesday.

The engines and other parts of the L-410 plane are also being analyzed.

Chief Air Force investigator Fernando Silva Alves de Camargo says the black boxes were damaged by the fire, but technicians hope the data inside can still be analyzed.
