Police say two trucks slammed into a wedding party tent in central Indonesia, killing 16 people and injuring 13 others.
Yanto, an officer who goes by only one name, said Wednesday that the accident occurred just before midnight when a truck hit a minibus and a fuel truck coming from the opposite direction.
Both trucks plowed into the roadside party tent in Sumber Rejo, a village on Java island.
Yanto says a 3-year-old girl was among the dead and many of the injured hospitalized in serious condition. It is not immediately clear if all the victims were wedding guests.
Poor safety standards are main causes of many fatal transportation accidents in Indonesia, an archipelago of more than 17,000 islands.
