2 Chinese miners survive week in collapsed mine

Two Chinese coal miners were rescued Sunday after being trapped for a week in a mine collapse that killed eight other workers, state media reported.

The miners were found in the Guangxi Heshan Coal Mine, which collapsed July 2, the Xinhua News Agency and state television said. They spent more than 180 hours, or about seven and a half days, underground.

Eight bodies were recovered and rescuers were looking for 12 other miners, state television said.
