Officials say a roadside bombing west of Baghdad has killed two Iraqi army officers.
The officials say the bomb exploded at dawn Friday as an Iraqi army patrol was passing by a village near the predominantly Sunni suburb of Abu Ghraib, west of the capital.
A hospital official says four other officers were wounded in the blast.
All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
Attacks on Iraqi forces have stepped up in recent months as the U.S. military prepares to withdraw from the country.
