BERLIN (Reuters) - German federal prosecutors filed murder charges on Friday against a Kosovan man alleged to have shot dead two U.S. airmen at Frankfurt airport in March, saying the killings were motivated by radical Islamist beliefs.
The 21-year-old suspect, who is detained in Germany, faces two counts of murder and three of attempted murder, according to the charges filed with a Frankfurt court.
There was no evidence the accused was a member of a terrorist organization, prosecutors added.
New York prosecutors filed murder charges against the suspect last month.
