The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists is condemning the recent killing of a reporter.
The organization said Tuesday that Ibrahim Foday was stabbed to death Sunday while reporting on a land dispute near the capital. They said he had worked for The Exclusive newspaper and had previously published stories on the dispute.
The group says Foday was stabbed during clashes between two communities on Freetown's outskirts. They say the motive for his killing is not known but urged police to speed up their investigations.
The journalists' group says this is the first fatal attack on a journalist since 2005.
