British police say they have surrounded a bank in an English town after a man threatened to harm the staff.
The BBC reported that the man in Watford, north of London, claimed to have a bomb strapped to his leg.
Hertfordshire Police said Thursday that the man in the branch of the Co-op bank "is on his own and no members of the public are at direct risk."
The area has been cordoned off and police say they are trying to resolve the situation peacefully.
The force would not confirm that the man claimed to have a bomb _ but posted messages about the incident to an official Twitter account using the label watfordbomb.
