Nazi cake baker says he's sorry

An Austrian pastry shop owner says he's sorry about baking cakes with Nazi themes.

Manfred Klaschka came under fire Tuesday when a Holocaust awareness group, the Mauthausen Committee, urged authorities to prosecute him for producing tortes adorned with swastikas and other Nazi-era symbols.

Klaschka told the Kurier newspaper Thursday it was a mistake to make the cakes and that he has nothing to do with Hitler. He added he's "absolutely not" a racist and is currently working on a cake for Turkish clients.

A woman who answered the phone at the pastry shop said Klaschka was not available for comment.

Erich Habitzl, spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Wiener Neustadt, said photos of the cakes that Klaschka displayed in a binder have been confiscated and police are investigating.
