NYC man faces murder charge in US Virgin Islands

Police in the U.S. Virgin Islands say a 24-year-old New York City man is facing murder and other charges for allegedly killing an islander last year.

In a statement Sunday, police say Jarial DeJesus has been charged with first-degree murder, assault and possession of an unlicensed gun in the Nov. 10 shooting death of Andy Roumou in a troubled St. Thomas neighborhood.

DeJesus, who is also known as "Preily," has been unable to post $250,000 bail and is in jail pending a court hearing Monday. It is not clear if he has a lawyer.
