An Iranian news agency says four officers were killed in an attack on a police station near a Kurdish town close to the Iraqi border.
The Sunday report by the semi-official Mehr agency says unidentified attackers wounded two other officers in the attack near Marivan, about 13 miles from the border.
The area has been hit by clashes between Iranian government forces and Kurdish rebels including the Party for Free Life in Kurdistan, or PEJAK, which says it's fighting for greater rights for Iran's Kurdish minority.
Over the past weeks, two other attacks on police forces wounded several officers in the nearby city of Sanandaj, capital of Iran's Kurdistan province.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
