Opposition calls for Netanyahu ethics probe

Israel's main opposition party is demanding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu be investigated over a report that his foreign travel was paid for by wealthy donors seeking influence in the government.

The Kadima Party says it has asked the attorney general to investigate criminal and ethical violations alleged in an investigative report on Israel's Channel 10 TV. It based its report on what it said was the premier's address book, pages of which it showed in the report, and other personal documents.

The report alleges that during the 10-year period between Netanyahu's first and second terms as prime minister, flights, hotels and food for Netanyahu and his family were provided by donors, businessmen and private organizations.

Netanyahu says the accusations are libelous, recycled and false.
