Police in El Salvador say one of the owners of the Deportivo Vista Hermosa football club has been arrested in a cocaine-dealing bust.
Police say Benitez Canales was among a group making a deal over 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of cocaine when they were arrested Thursday night. The police statement is unclear if Canales was allegedly buying or selling the drugs.
The statement issued Friday says Canales and three others were arrested on a street of San Francisco Gotera, the town in western El Salvador where he lives.
Police raided the Corrrecaminos stadium where his football club is based and four other businesses owned by the Canales family.
