CLEVELAND (AP) — Fire investigators have recovered the bodies of three people who died in a Cleveland house fire and are continuing to search for a fourth victim.
The city's fire chief says the search has been hampered by heavy damage to the home that first made it unsafe for firefighters to look for the victims.
Investigators and family members say a 3-year-old boy, an 8-year-old girl, the boy's 46-year-old father and the man's 44-year-old nephew were in the house when the fire started overnight Tuesday.
Firefighters say the mother of one of the children escaped by jumping from a second-floor window.
A fire department spokesman tells Cleveland.com that the woman said she and her husband tried but couldn't get to the children.
A cause of the fire hasn't been released.
