Several hurt in fiery multivehicle crash during morning rush

WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say at least six vehicles collided on a major highway in central New Jersey during morning rush, creating fires and injuring several people.

The crash occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Friday in the southbound lanes of Route 440 near Interstate 287 in Woodbridge Township.

At least seven people were hurt, but details on their conditions were not immediately available.

A stretch of the road was closed while the crash was investigated, causing major travel delays.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
