(Reuters) - Tropical storm Bret is expected weaken into a tropical depression later on Tuesday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in its latest advisory.
The storm, packing maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph) at present, is moving toward the west-northwest and will move into the extreme southeastern Caribbean Sea later on Tuesday, the forecaster said.
Another disturbance, located about 345 miles (555 km) south-southeast of Morgan City, Louisiana with an 80 percent chance of becoming a cyclone, could see some strengthening before reaching the Louisiana coast on Wednesday, the Miami-based weather forecaster added.
"A tropical storm warning is now in effect from Cameron, Louisiana to Intracoastal City," the NHC said.
