1st tropical storm of Pacific season weakens into depression

MIAMI (AP) — The first tropical storm of the Pacific hurricane season has weakened into a tropical depression.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami reports that Tropical Depression Adrian's maximum sustained winds late Wednesday were 35 mph (55 kph).

Adrian was centered about 420 miles (675 kilometers) south-southeast of Salina Cruz, Mexico, and was moving northwest near 5 mph (7 kph).
