Box Office Top 20: 'The Boss Baby' squashes 'Smurfs 3'

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "The Boss Baby" continued to dominate the box office in its second weekend in theaters, adding $26.4 million to take the top spot. The animated flick featuring the voice of Alec Baldwin has earned $89.4 million from North American theaters to date.

It effectively took the family business away from new opener "Smurfs: The Lost Village," which debuted to a dismal $13.2 million in third place, behind Disney's juggernaut "Beauty and the Beast," which has now grossed $430.9 million domestically.

Not too far behind the third "Smurfs" movie was the Warner Bros. heist comedy "Going in Style" starring Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin. "Going in Style" earned $11.9 million in its first weekend in theaters.

Paramount's beleaguered "Ghost in the Shell" rounded out the top five with $7.3 million.
