ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Most state legislatures have at least some control over setting their own salaries, though many haven't raised it for years.

— New Hampshire, at least 1943

— Texas, 1975

— Louisiana, 1981

— Mississippi, 1986

— Virginia, 1988
