ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Most state legislatures have at least some control over setting their own salaries, though many haven't raised it for years.
Here are some of the states with long droughts for lawmaker pay hikes, and the years they were last approved:
— New Hampshire, at least 1943
— Texas, 1975
— Louisiana, 1981
— Mississippi, 1986
— Virginia, 1988
