PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pennsylvania high school student who posted on social media an image of a fake license to hunt black people has been removed from school.
Officials in the Highlands School District in suburban Pittsburgh tell KDKA-TV (http://cbsloc.al/2gJ1BrK ) the student posted an image with a racial slur for black people on Snapchat and shared it with multiple people.
The fake license says the holder is permitted to hunt and kill black people during open season, from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.
School officials became aware of the post near the end of the school day Thursday.
Superintendent Michael Bjalobok says the district won't tolerate such behavior and the principal took action immediately. It's unclear if the student was suspended or expelled.
The superintendent says a notice will be sent to students' homes.
