GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Police in Colorado say a man wanted in connection with a Utah slaying led authorities on two wrong-way chases and briefly kidnapped a woman after breaking in to her home to change his clothes and steal her car.
Police are still piecing together the string of crimes, but they said James Main Jr., 34, also tried to carry out several carjackings and stole a bicycle after crashing a vehicle.
He was arrested in Grand Junction on Sunday, about 24 hours after authorities got word he might be in the area. Main is being held in the death of a 56-year-old man and the kidnapping of two others about 170 miles away in Duchesne (Doo'-shane) County, Utah.
It's not known if he has a lawyer or why he ended up in Colorado.
This story has been corrected to change the spelling of Duchesne County.
