EXETER, N.H. (AP) — A November trial date has been set in a lawsuit filed by the parents of a teen who was kicked out of an elite New Hampshire prep school after having sex with another student.
The unnamed parents filed the federal lawsuit Aug. 30 against Phillips Exeter Academy. The Portsmouth Herald reports (http://bit.ly/2cZwCKj ) the trial is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 14.
The lawsuit focuses on the dismissal of the unidentified 15-year-old boy. The parents allege the school told them their son would be involuntarily removed from the school for sexual harassment if he didn't withdraw himself.
School officials say the case was handled fairly.
