NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — There's still no sign of a man with outstanding arrest warrants two weeks after police say he avoided capture by slipping into a sewer system in New Jersey.
Authorities have been searching for 31-year-old Keith Jean of Roselle since Aug. 3 when he was a passenger in a car Harrison police pulled over. Police say Jean jumped into the Passaic River and entered a pipe that's connected to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission's treatment plant in Newark.
A camera-equipped robot failed to find any sign of Jean in the pipe, where deadly gases gather amid chemicals, bacteria and human waste. Harrison Police Lt. David Doyle tells NJ.com (http://bit.ly/2bmMMLF ) police believe Jean escaped.
Cadaver dogs have found nothing, and family and friends have not asked about him.
