MIAMI (AP) — A mother and two of her teenage children were dead following a shooting early Sunday morning at a home in a neighborhood in south Florida.
So far authorities have not released a lot of information about the incident, including whether or not they know who the shooter might be or if they have arrested anyone.
The Miami-Dade Police Department said in a statement that officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. to reports of gun shots being fired in a neighborhood in southwest Miami-Dade County. When they arrived, police found four people with apparent gunshot wounds.
The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/2aIveHA ) quoted family members who said the shots rang out after Takeeya "KeKe" Fulton, a 39-year-old mother of six, got into an argument with the father of three of her children. Both Fulton and her daughter, Nuckeria "Keria" Harris, 19, were shot and died at the home.
Two of Fulton's sons were also shot and airlifted to a local hospital.
Corey "CJ" Bishop Jr., 17, later died at the hospital. Another boy, a 12-year-old, was in stable condition according to police. The newspaper reported that Fulton has three other young children, who were not injured.
While police have acknowledged the deaths, they have not released any more information.
"We're investigating it to the fullest," Miami-Dade police spokeswoman Robin Pinkard told the Herald. "It's really early in the investigation."
