SKANEATELES, N.Y. (AP) — A young girl and her father are hospitalized after a boating accident in central New York.
The Onondaga (ahn-uhn-DAH'-gah) County Sheriff's Office says an 8-year-old girl and her father were riding on an inner tube towed by a motorboat Wednesday evening on Skaneateles (skin-ee-AT'-luhs) Lake. They were thrown off when the tube hit a wake.
Sheriff's deputies say the boat's propeller hit the two when it circled back to them.
Deputies say the girl is in critical condition with head and leg injuries and her father is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
They're identified as 32-year-old Christopher Driscoll of Homer and his daughter Kaelynne Driscoll.
The investigation is ongoing.
