DAMASCUS, Md. (AP) — Officials say three teenagers have been killed after a single-vehicle crash in Maryland.
The crash happened late Tuesday night in Damascus. Montgomery County police say in a statement that the driver 17-year-old Jacob Tyler Dennis of Boyds and passengers, 18-year-old Patrick Andrew Shifflett of Laytonsville and 17-year-old Cary Mauri'ce Greene of Clarksburg, were killed.
Authorities say an investigation found that the car the teenagers were traveling in left the roadway and hit a tree.
Dennis and Shifflett were pronounced dead at the scene. Greene was taken to the hospital, where he died.
It's unclear what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
