ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say one man was killed in a rolling gunbattle and multiple cars were hit by bullets when people in two vehicles fired at one another while speeding down Interstate 20 just east of Atlanta.
News organizations report it happened just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Major Stephen Fore, a DeKalb County police spokesman, said in an email that officers found a male driver in his late teens to early 20s dead from gunshot wounds in one vehicle. Police did not immediately release his name.
Police at the scene near Panola Road had pulled over five cars with bullet holes. TV news footage showed multiple bullet holes in the windows of one car.
All lanes except one were closed for two hours.
DeKalb County is on Atlanta's eastern side.
