LOWRYS, S.C. (AP) — Investigators in South Carolina have identified the man killed in a weekend skydiving accident.
The Herald of Rock Hill reports (http://bit.ly/1TWOVys) the Chester County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that the body of 32-year-old Bond Springer of Boca Raton, Florida, was found in a wooded area nearly 14 hours after the accident.
According to the sheriff's office, Springer was skydiving in a wing suit Saturday evening when he collided with a second skydiver. The report said the other man landed when his parachute deployed and was transported for treatment of a broken leg.
Rescue crews had to suspend their initial search due to approaching storms. They resumed the search at 7 a.m. Sunday and found Springer's body a short time later.
Both skydivers were described as experienced.
