GROVELAND, Fla. (AP) — Deputies say a Texas man was killed in a weekend hang gliding accident in central Florida.
News outlets report the victim of Saturday's accident was 56-year-old Jeffrey Lawrence Bohl, of Tomball, Texas.
The Daily Commercial reports (http://bit.ly/1TVFwkL) that Bohl died during the 2016 Quest Air Open National Championships held at Sheets Airport in Groveland. A website for the national competition listed Bohl as a competitor.
A Lake County sheriff's report says Bohl's hang glider was being towed by an airplane and reached about 30 feet in the air before crashing to the ground. Bohr was pronounced dead at the scene.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Association were called to investigate.
