WOODSTOCK, Ohio (AP) — The state fire marshal's office says the cause of a fire that killed a 16-year-old boy and injured four other people in western Ohio remains undetermined.
Authorities said Jordan Edley died in the Dec. 23 fire at his family's mobile home in Woodstock in Champaign County. His mother and 12-year-old brother and two deputies who tried to rescue him were treated for smoke inhalation.
The Springfield News-Sun (http://bit.ly/1YYGMro ) reports that the recently released final report by the fire marshal's office lists the official cause as undetermined, but points to evidence the fire began in the living room. Investigators have said at least one of six electric heaters was found near the living room.
Edley's mother told investigators the family heated the home solely with the space heaters.
