GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — Officials say a one person is injured after a car they were driving was struck by a CSX train carrying coal in Maryland.
Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Spokesman Pete Piringer tells WTOP (http://bit.ly/1YOHZS5 ) that the incident happened Sunday morning in Gaithersburg. Authorities are investigating what caused the collision.
Piringer says the driver of the car was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Officials have not released the identity of the person who was injured.
