SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) — A Salt Lake City area light rail train derailed and three people were injured.

A spokesman for South Salt Lake police says the train went off the tracks Sunday afternoon.

Spokesman Gary Keller says in a news release that 14 people were riding when the train derailed.

Initial reports said four people were injured, but the Salt Lake Tribune (http://bit.ly/1T6k2qU ) reported later that there were just three hurt.

Utah Transit Authority PIO Remi Barron told the newspaper that the derailment occurred in a curve in the tracks about 2:30 p.m.

Buses were used in the area with the train out of service.

Barron says the UTA expects to have service restored ahead of the Monday morning commute.
