The Latest: Trial of Hulk Hogan sex video enters second day

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Latest on the civil lawsuit between wrestler Hulk Hogan and the New York-based website Gawker (all times local):

9:55 a.m.

Former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan is on the witness stand for Day 2 of trial in his civil lawsuit against Gawker Media.

The trial resumed Tuesday morning in St. Petersburg with Hogan being cross-examined by Gawker lawyers.

Hogan is suing the New York-based website for $100 million for posting an edited clip of a sex tape made of him and the wife of his then-best friend.

Tuesday morning, Gawker's attorneys played a video of Hogan doing an interview with TMZ about the sex tape. The interview was prior to Gawker's posting of the video and depicted Hogan joking about his thong tan line.

Hogan claims Gawker invaded his privacy. The trial will explore questions about celebrity and expectation of privacy.

Former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan is expected to take the witness stand again during the second day of trial in his civil lawsuit against Gawker Media.

The trial continues Tuesday in downtown St. Petersburg.

Hogan is suing Gawker for $100 million. The core issue: Did Gawker have the right to post one minute and forty one seconds of a sex tape filmed of Hogan and his then-best friend's wife?

Hogan and his lawyers say no, that Gawker invaded his privacy. He says the posting of the video caused him severe emotional distress.

Gawker says the publication was a legitimate scoop because Hogan had talked openly about his sex life before, in forums such as Howard Stern's radio show. The trial will explore questions about celebrity and expectations of privacy.
