NEW YORK (AP) — A clothing salesman convicted in the 2012 slayings of three New York City shopkeepers has been sentenced to 75 years to life in prison.
Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson announced the sentencing of 67-year-old Salvatore Perrone on Friday. He was convicted in February of three counts of murder.
A police detective testified that the Staten Island resident had a duffel bag containing a sawed-off rifle, a bloody knife, screwdrivers, switchblades, bleach and a bloody handkerchief.
All three storekeepers were shot. One's throat also had been slit.
Perrone said he was framed.
