LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Latest on a winter storm lashing California (all times local):
Powerful winds are lashing Southern California at the tail end of a winter storm bringing damaging gusts, heavy rain and mountain snow.
The California Highway Patrol says Interstate 5 leading in and out of Los Angeles County was shut early Monday due to snow and ice.
Wind advisories remain in place a day after strong gusts downed trees and power poles and ripped off rooftops. A motorist was killed Sunday when a tree fell on his car in San Diego County.
The weekend's heavy rain has mostly moved out, but snow is still expected in areas as low as 2,000 feet. Higher elevations could see as much as a foot of snow.
