COOLIDGE, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say two men and a woman have been found fatally shot on a highway west of Coolidge.
Coolidge police say the incident occurred Wednesday afternoon in a remote area on State Route 87 at Signal Peak Road, and they aren't looking for any suspects.
They say all three people died at the scene and were related. The names are being withheld until relatives can be notified.
A police spokeswoman says the shootings don't appear to be either drug-related or a property crime, and a motive isn't immediately known.
Aerial footage of the scene from television news helicopters shows three bodies covered with tarps and investigators gathering evidence in the area. A black sedan is parked off the road with its trunk open.
Police say State Route 87 remains closed in both directions. The Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Pinal County Sheriff's Office are assisting with the investigation.
Coolidge is about 56 miles southeast of Phoenix.
