There goes the weekend: The South and East are bracing for a whopper of a snowstorm.
Details on the brewing nor'easter:
— The National Weather Service is warning of heavy, "perhaps crippling" snow across the northern mid-Atlantic region, including Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia.
— Blizzard and winter storm watches have been issued for parts of Maryland, Washington, Virginia and West Virginia, starting as early as Thursday and stretching into Saturday.
— How much? Bigger cities could get a foot or two of snow.
— When? The strongest winds and potentially life-threatening conditions are expected Friday night through Saturday night.
— The storm is first expected to hit Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky with freezing rain and ice.
— Snow already was blanketing parts of Kentucky and Tennessee on Wednesday.
