CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — The latest on the alleged sexual assaults of four high school freshman basketball players in Tennessee by three teammates (all times local):

6:15 p.m.

Three high school officials charged with failing to report the sexual abuse of four basketball players have been suspended without pay.

Hamilton County Schools Superintendent Rick Smith says Ooltewah head basketball coach Andre Montgomery, assistant basketball coach Karl Williams and athletic director Allard Nayadley will be suspended until the investigation into last month's incident is complete.

He made the announcement after the Hamilton County Board of Education held an agenda work session Thursday in which it discussed clarifying its anti-bullying policies.

The board was about to begin a public forum to hear "the concerns of the committee."

Three Ooltewah High School basketball players have been charged with the aggravated rape of a teammate while on a trip to Gatlinburg. The complaint against the school officials says four freshmen boys were apparently abused, but no other charges have been filed in the incident.

Three high school officials have been charged with failing to report the sexual abuse of four basketball players.

The criminal complaint filed by the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office on Thursday reveals a far broader assault than authorities had previously announced.

The complaint says that four freshman boys were apparently sexually abused, with one requiring emergency surgery for injuries.

Gatlinburg Police have charged three male Ooltewah High School basketball teammates with the aggravated rape of one player, but have not announced any other charges in connection to the Dec. 22 incident.

No one responded immediately to a message left Thursday afternoon on the voicemail of a police department investigator.

An attorney for the school district said he could not comment because he had not reviewed the charges.
